On February 25, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong, who is also Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education, led a delegation from his committee and the Ministry of Health on a visit to congratulate doctors, health workers, and employees of Hanoi’s Military Hospital 108.
The hospital is currently one of the five largest and most prestigious medical facilities in the country, with more than 200 Professors and Doctors and nearly 300 physicians. Not only being at the forefront of medical examination and treatment, the hospital also takes the lead in cooperation in research, advanced treatment and applying specialised techniques.
On behalf of the Politburo and the Secretariat, Thuong conveyed his best wishes to medical staff at the hospital on the occasion of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day. He also praised the achievements of the medical facility and expressed his hope that the hospital will continue to promote its achieved results and soon become an international-level hospital.
On the occasion, Thuong also visited and congratulated two physicians and People's Teachers, Prof., Dr. Nguyen Buu Trieu (former Head of the Surgery Department under Hanoi Medical University) and Prof., Dr. Le Duc Hinh (Chairman of Vietnam Neurology Association and former Head of Neurology Department under Bach Mai Hospital). Thuong wished the two physicians good health to continue contributing their knowledge and experience to successors participating in the care and improvement of people's health.
On the same day, Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan led a city's delegation to visit Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital. Praising the results that the hospital has achieved in the prevention and control of tuberculosis and pulmonary diseases in the southern region, Nhan conveyed his wishes to Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital's officials and employees, urging them to continue promoting the hospital's tradition in treating tuberculosis and lung diseases.
Nhan, on the same day, also visited Hero of Labour and former Deputy Minister of Health, Doctor Doan Thuy Ba, and the family of former Deputy Minister of Health, Vietnamese Heroic Mother Bui Thi Me.
Earlier on Monday morning, a delegation from the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education, led by Deputy Head Vo Van Phuong, visited several medical facilities and physicians in Ho Chi Minh City. The delegation visited Thong Nhat Hospital, Children's Hospital 1, and Labour Hero and People's Doctor Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong, who is former Director of Tu Du Hospital.
