Speaking at the event, Lao Prime Minister Thongsin Thammavong stressed that the August Revolution in 1945 was a glorious victory for the Vietnamese people.
For the people in Laos, the victory of Vietnam’s August Revolution was a motivation for their independence on November 1945. On behalf of his party, government, and Lao people of all ethnicities, Prime Minister Thongsin Thammavong thanked the Vietnamese Communist Party, state, people and army for their support in the resistance wars for national liberation as well as in peace time. He also reaffirmed the importance of the bilateral ties between the two countries as well as determination to maintain and promote comprehensive co-operation.
