Import and export activities were put on hold due to harsh weather conditions during the storm between August 4th and 8th. Heavy showers struck Lao Cai Province, disrupting cross-border river freight and obstructing traffic. While customs officers in Lao Cai remained on duty 24 hours a day, weather conditions made it impossible for goods to be transported. Now that the local authorities have cleared the road, and cross-border trade has resumed.
