Around 217 million USD or 7.5 trillion VND of the total is attributed to bankrupt firms from prior to 2014. The Ministry of Finance also allocated 6.7 trillion VND or 200 million USD for enterprises that were unable to pay taxes in the 2014 - 2015 period. To avoid firms closing and re-opening as a new one to avoid tax, the ministry will only issue tax number for enterprises 2 years after they announce their bankruptcy.
