A woman who has never been a mother, yet has cared for dozens of lives from their first breath
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Truong Quy Linh witnessed single pregnant women struggling through fear and scarcity. She realized that they needed more than material support ; they needed to feel worthy of love. In October 2021, Linh used savings to rent a house. Rather than a temporary shelter, she envisioned it as a stable haven where vulnerable women could receive support in the smallest details of life: daily meals, prenatal checkups, childbirth, and even future livelihoods.
Although she has never given birth or married, Linh has witnessed nearly 60 babies cry their first cries in the difficult circumstances over the past four years. Countless “miracles” have been quietly given by one woman so that these little lives would never feel abandoned or alone.
Rather than waiting for a “miracle”, a couple creates miracles for others
People often think of Vo Duc Duan as tough and rugged. But behind the solid build of a fitness coach is a father who is learning every day how to be gentler.
His wife, Vang Thi Hanh, is a teacher working 150 kilometers away. While she is away, Duan stays home caring for the children, cooking for them, holding them and lulling them to sleep. He is learning to live with the small worries that stretch through sleepless nights.
Nine years have passed, and every child who comes into their lives is cherished and called “a gift from heaven”. At the “Home of Children”, the children are called by name, held close, and raised within a family in the truest sense.
Soldiers in green uniforms become “parents” to dozens of homeless children
In the mountains of Son La, some children grow up in very special arms, the arms of police officers. Since 2021, many officers have chosen to open their hearts and become extraordinary “fathers and mothers” to orphaned children or those lacking family support through a program designed to care for children in special circumstances.
The officers patiently accompany the children through every aspect of their lives, from daily meals and sleep to lessons in becoming good people, quietly watching every small change.
Without fanfare or publicity, these officers embark on a silent journey, providing a solid home for many vulnerable children with hearts large enough to do so.
Perhaps a “miracle” is not something distant or dazzling. Sometimes, a miracle is simply a door opening at the right moment, a generous embrace that lasts, or someone choosing to love a stranger even more than their own blood. From these quiet acts, miracles gently appear, in smiling eyes, peaceful sleep, and dreams finally given a name: “Little Suns”.
