According to the Plant Protection Department, Australia has released its final assessment of biosafety requirements for dragon fruit before finalising their decision on imports. Meanwhile, several importers from the United States, Japan, and Korea have come to Vietnam to find suppliers for other agriculture products. "The biggest challenge I see here is the price issue. I find it higher than in other countries. So we'll be less competitive. Although Vietnam's agro-product quality has been endorsed by both the government and its enterprises as a world destination for seafood, this still requires constant effort. Any negative information can cause long-term effects", Nguyen Hoai Nam - Deputy General Secretary of Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers - said.
While demand from the US has decreased, Japan has become the largest market for Vietnamese shrimp. With Japan's reputation for high standards, this will help Vietnamese seafood enter new markets.
