Rice exports were estimated at 2.3 million tonnes and US$1 billion, up 1.6% and 1.2% in volume and value respectively. Coffee exports reached 693,000 tonnes and $US1.57 billion, down nearly 16% in volume but up 11% in value.
Fruit and vegetable exports in the first five months of the year were estimated at over 1.4 billion USD, an increase of over 30% over the same period last year.
China, the United States, Japan and South Korea still remain the dominant markets for Vietnamese vegetables and fruits exports, accounting for nearly 84% of total export value. These countries were also the top four importing markets for Vietnamese seafood, accounting for 53.5% of the total export value.
