JETRO representative in Vietnam Atsusuke Kawada confirmed the news at a meeting with PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the JETRO representative asked the PM to give guidelines on preparing the investment promotion campaign. Kawada confirmed that Japanese businesses were very interested in the Vietnamese market and have regularly consulted JETRO about investing in the country.
PM Phúc said Vietnam wanted to promote its image among Japanese businesses, especially hi-tech and creative small and medium-sized enterprises because Vietnam was focusing on developing start-ups. Last year, Japan was the second largest investor in Vietnam and both sides expect investment to grow.
