This trend is expected to continue in 2019 because beginning this April, Japan will open the door for more than 340 thousand foreign workers. Of these workers those from Vietnam are more favoured by Japanese businesses. Many businesses have gone to Vietnam directly to recruit workers at the local training facilities.
Highly skilled workers may be able to apply for residency and are allowed to bring their families and extend their working time in Japan.
