Typhoon Pabuk heads for Gulf of Thailand’s southern region

VTV.vn - Typhoon Pabuk is headed for the southern region of the Gulf of Thailand.

The first major storm of 2019, which is internationally known as Typhoon Pabuk, is headed for the southern region of the Gulf of Thailand and is expected to bring thunderstorms and whirlwinds to provinces throughout the south from January 3 to 4, according to the National Hydro-meteorological Forecasting Centre.

As of 4 pm, local time Thursday, the eye of the typhoon was 250 km south of Cape Ca Mau with the strongest winds reaching 60-90km per hour. The center has sent warnings to areas at risk namely the waters south of Ca Mau province, the waters around the Phu Quoc and Tho Chu islands.
