This was done to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.
Currently, Japanese cherry blossoms have been presented in several provinces in Vietnam such as Đà Nẵng, Hanoi, Quảng Ninh, Hưng Yên and Yên Bái. They are gifts from Japanese organizations and localities.
In addition, Japanese artisans have transferred their methods of caring for the trees to Vietnam, so that the cherry blossom trees can grow well in Vietnam's climate.
