Japan hands over 2 vessels to Vietnam

VTV.vn - Two surveillance vessels were handed over to the Vietnam Fishery Surveillance Force in Hai Phong port city by representatives from the Japanese Embassy.

Vessel KN 595 is 56m long with an engine capacity of 1,600 horsepower. The other, vessel KN 596, has a length of nearly 57m and engine capacity of 1000 horsepower. Both ships have an operational range of 1,200 nautical miles, a sea life of 40-45 days, and crew of 33. They can also operate safely under level-9 sea wind conditions. These vessels will be under the management of the Fisheries Surveillance Department Region V. They will help Vietnamese law enforcement forces strengthen inspections and enforcement of the fisheries law. It is expected that in August, there will be one more Japanese vessel handed over to Vietnam.
