VTV.vn - Japan’s authorities have withdrawn the operation licences of two Japanese organisations in charge of receiving foreign technical trainees after finding that they had illegally negotiated with Vietnamese agencies sending trainees to Japan.

According to Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the Japanese organisation in Chiba prefecture had reached a deal with and forced the Vietnamese partner to pay a penalty of about 1,900 – 2,800 USD for the Japanese side if any trainee tries to escape from the workplace.

Meanwhile, the Japanese organisation in Saitama prefecture had struck an illegal deal to receive kickbacks from a different Vietnamese agency.

The MHLW and the Ministry of Justice said these agreements violated the Japanese government’s technical intern training programme, which prohibits accepting improper payments.

According to Jiji Press of Japan, licensed organisations will be able to receive foreign technical trainees and introduce them to related businesses. Organisations with licences revoked will not be able to apply for new licenses within five years.
