International workshop on fugitive pursuit
VTV.vn - Interpol, Asianapol, Europol and police force representatives from Canada, China, France, Germany, Russia, and the United States stressed that they would co-ordinate with Vietnam police to arrest fugitive Trịnh Xuân Thanh.

Interpol, Asianapol, Europol and police force representatives from Canada, China, France, Germany, Russia, and the United States stressed that they would co-ordinate with Vietnam police to arrest fugitive Trịnh Xuân Thanh who is now hiding abroad from criminal charges.

The commitment  was made at an  international workshop on fugitive pursuit for the first time held in Vietnam. Eighteen  18 organizations and national police forces participate in the workshop.

Since its establishment in 2009, the Vietnam police force for criminal fugitive pursuit has arrested and handed over 225 internationally-wanted foreign criminals. It has also arrested and received 160 Vietnamese criminals that were arrested abroad.

Concerning the case of Trinh Xuan Thanh, the Ministry of Public Security said that Interpol had issued arrest warrants in 192 member countries. All the international partners at the workshop said they would co-ordinate with Vietnam to chase this fugitive.

Representatives of the international police organizations and national police agreed with Vietnam’s recommendation and initiatives at the workshop in order to chase and arrest fugitives.
