International volunteers provide healthcare to the poor

VTV.vn - A group of 130 international volunteer doctors and nurses have been in Vietnam to provide free treatment and medication to 13,000 residents in nine communes of Kon Plong District, in Kon Tum Province.

The volunteers come from Israel, the UK, France, Japan, the US, Australia and the Philippines, and have been working alongside Vietnamese medical staff since September 12th on this five-day trip.

Medications with a value of nearly 18,000 USD have been prescribed to local residents. The delegation has also provided funds to construct two schools and two wells in the area, along with providing an ultrasound machine to the local health clinic.
