Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, former Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, and Standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Trần Quốc Vượng attended the inauguration ceremony of Hạ Long Hải Phòng Expressway and Bạch Đằng Bridge this morning.
After nearly 4 years of construction and an investment of about 600 million US dollars, the expressway was fianally completed.
It has four lanes and the maximum speed has been set at 100 kilometers per hour. At the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc highly praised the expressway as it will reduce the travel time by car from Hanoi to Hạ Long to 1.5 hours, and from Hạ Long to Hải Phòng to half an hour.
The made in Vietnam Bạch Đằng Bridge shows that the leaders of Quảng Ninh Province and the central agencies are doing a good job at developing the country's infrastructure. The Hạ Long Hải Phòng Expressway opened at 1pm today, September 1st.
