Improving production capacity and developing the digital technology industry

VTV.vn - The Party Central Committee's Economic Commission has recently organised a workshop on improving smart production capacity and developing the digital technology industry in the direction of “make in Vietnam”.

The workshop is within the framework of the High-Level Forum on Industry 4.0 in 2023, in association with the implementation of Resolution No. 29 of the Politburo on industrialisation and modernisation.

The workshop heard six main reports, focusing on the development of the digital technology industry; digital transformation in manufacturing: international experience and recommendations for Vietnam; IoT applications in production optimisation; 4.0 technology in production: promoting the enhancement of enterprise value and competitiveness; promoting the development of the digital technology industry with “make in Vietnam” solutions; new generation intelligent production management and operation (MoM) solution: improving productivity and competitiveness.

At the same time, the delegates exchanged and discussed improving smart production capacity and developing industry to create a strong change in the actions of both the political and social systems, to continue to push industrialisation and modernisation of the country in the new situation. The delegates also focused on clarifying the core content of the country's industrialisation and modernisation process in the 2021-2030 period.

In particular, the highlight is promoting the application of science and technology, innovation, especially the achievements of the 4th Industrial Revolution, creating breakthroughs in productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness of industries, fields and the whole economy; implementing a comprehensive, substantive, effective and sustainable digital transformation. Digital transformation is a new and breakthrough method to shorten the process of industrialisation and modernisation.

The delegates also emphasised the need to accelerate the process of building, issuing, and effectively implementing the Strategy for Digital Industrial Development; building and deploying the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy of Vietnam until 2030, with a vision to 2045; building the Law on Digital Industry; actively and effectively implementing the contents of the Political Declaration on the establishment of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP); and successfully realising the Power Development Plan VIII towards reducing and balancing emissions in line with Vietnam's commitments at the 26th and 27th United Nations Climate Change Conferences

According to the organisers, from 2018, with the consent of Permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat, the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission presided over and coordinated with the ministries, central branches and relevant agencies, to organise the annual Vietnam Industry 4.0 Summit. The Summit is a prestigious and large-scale international event, held annually in association with the implementation of the Party's resolutions.

Following the success of the Vietnam Industry 4.0 Summit held over the years, to further promote the implementation of Resolution 52-NQ/TW dated September 27, 2019, of the Politburo on several guidelines, and policies to actively participate in Industry 4.0, this year's summit is themed “Accelerating digital and green transitions in driving breakthroughs to shorten the process of industrialisation and modernisation to 2030 with a vision to 2045”.
