In recent years, Nhan Dan Newspaper has made a strong push in digital transformation and newsroom convergence is one of the key measures to realise that strategy.
Covering more than 400 square metres, the converged newsroom is the shared working space of more than 70 staff, reporters and editors of Nhan Dan Online.
The converged newsroom is expected to maximise resources to produce news in an integrated and flexible manner that targets different platforms and audiences.
According to Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh, the converged newsroom is one of the newspaper’s recent innovations that will enhance productivity and provide news services on multiple platforms.
The electronic version of Nhan Dan officially went online on June 21, 1998, becoming the first online newspaper in Vietnam. Besides the Vietnamese version, the newspaper is also available on the web in English, Chinese, French and Spanish.
In the past 25 years, Nhan Dan Online has successfully fulfilled its mission of disseminating the Party and State’s policies as well as covering all aspects of Vietnam’s social and economic life.
In his address, Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh praised the efforts of the Nhan Dan staff, especially those from the online division, for overcoming difficulties to gain achievements in the recent times.
He urged Nhan Dan Online to continue renovating, enhancing its content quality and diversifying ways of conveying information for the ultimate goal of building a better society.
For its part, Head of Nhan Dan Online Nguyen Ngoc Thanh stated that what the division has achieved are only the initial results and the road ahead remains challenging, requiring it to make even greater efforts to meet the needs of readers.
Sharing his thoughts at the event, Ha Dang, former editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan, expressed his impression at the converged newsroom and his delight at the development and modernisation of Nhan Dan Newspaper in general.
With its outstanding achievements in recent years, Nhan Dan Online has been honoured with the Prime Minister’s certificate of merit.
