Addressing an audience of lecturers and students, President Hollande stressed that France and Vietnam have a time-honoured relationship which while consisting of some tragic periods, has been left behind for the two countries to build a co-operative relationship in the president. The president expressed the hope that more Vietnamese students would choose France to study, saying that promoting links between universities and the teaching of French in Vietnamese universities would provide more opportunities for Vietnamese students to pursue higher education in France. On the occasion of this visit, the Vietnam National University-Hanoi and the Ecole Polytechnique signed an agreement to boost links in human resource training.
