Simultaneously, the Prime Minister has asked relevant ministries, agencies and the local authorities of Quang Ngai to continue monitoring the construction and production activities of the new plant to ensure safety, cleanliness, environmental protection and legal compliance.
The first phase of the plant is expected to be conducted between 2017 and 2019, and aims to produce 2 million tons of long steel per year.
The second phase between 2020 and 2022 will produce steel for heavy industry. According to the Ministry of Industry, the group has decided to go with a smaller scale of production to suit the demand of the steel market in the coming time.
