The plant is expected to use brand-new technology to turn waste into electricity and compost fertiliser. The project has a total investment of 370 million USD and will require a land area of 17 hectares, with a capacity of 4000 – 5000 tonnes/day. Upon completion, the plant is expected to be able to handle 40 percent of the city's waste and contribute about 40 – 50 megawatts to the national grid.
