A ceremony to connect unit 1 of the Lai Chau Hydropower Plant to the national grid will be held next Wednesday, December 23. Located in the upper reach of the Da River, the three-turbine plant is designed to have a combined capacity of 1,200 MW. It will supply over 4.6 million KWh of electricity to the national grid per year. Unit 2 of the Lai Chau Hydropower Plant has also been half completed.
The plant will not only provide power and water for the Red River Delta in the dry season, but also contribute to promoting socio-economic development in Lai Chau and neighboring provinces.
