Heavy rains, cyclones wreak havoc in Northwestern Vietnam

VTV.vn - Heavy rains accompanied by cyclones in the Northern provinces of Bắc Kạn and Lai Châu have swept away nearly 200 hundred buildings.

By Monday, more than 140 houses in Bắc Kạn Province had been blown away. Ba Bể District suffered the most damage with the unroofing of 120 houses, 1 medical station, 1 cultural house, and 1 classroom. The total damage is estimated at nearly 9500 USD.

Meanwhile, in Lai Châu Province, initial statistics show that heavy rains and strong winds have unroofed 51 houses, 9 classrooms, a cultural house, and a medical station in the districts of Tân Uyên, Nậm Nhùn, Mường Tè, and Sìn Hồ. Fortunately, there haven't been any casualties.
