HCMC shortens waiting period between 2 vaccine shots

Ho Chi Minh City has officially shortened the waiting time between 2 AstraZeneca shots from 8 weeks to 6 weeks, according to an urgent notice from the city's People's Committee. This is done to speed up 2nd dose coverage for residents. Vaccination units must fully make known the benefits, effectiveness and safety of 2nd shots, so that more people will participate.

According to guidelines on AstraZeneca inoculation, the second dose should be given between 4-12 weeks after the 1st dose.
