According to the organizers, the event originated during the visit to HCM City by the General Secretary of the Korean Boxing Federation in July 2015, with the goal of supporting the amateur and professional development of the sport in Vietnam.
Vietnamese boxers on the card include Nguyen Thi Thu Nhi, Luu Thi Duyen, Tran Van Thao, Nguyen Van Hai and Nguyen Ngoc Hai while RoK boxers are Chan Mi Lin, Sul Gi Jum, Yo Han Bae, Seung Hoon Lee, Dong Hee Kim.
