5,700 of some 11,000 apartments have been sold. Apartments have been cut in size with prices now standing at 15 million dong or 700 USD per square metre.
However, several shortcomings have been pointed out. The occupancy rate in these projects is still lower than targeted, while the construction of some buildings has failed to comply with their agreed designs.
The construction department has requested more scrutiny from the municipal people’s committee regarding approval for social housing projects.
