VTV.vn - The Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Hanoi announced that relief aid worth 3 billion VND will be presented to the central province of Nghe An.

The aid will be sent to the relief fund of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An Province to support local flood victims in building or repairing their damaged houses, as well as in purchasing seeds, production materials and equipment.

Hanoi City wishes that the aid will be delivered to the affected people in a prompt and effective manner.

Storm Noru made landfall in the central region, with heavy rain and strong winds causing landslides and damaging local houses, especially in Nghe An Province.

Prolonged torrential rain has inundated more than 2,000 houses in Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province, with some parts submerged in up to 70cm of water. Residents have had to evacuate.

A dyke section in Quynh Tam Commune broke on the night of September 28. More than 300 schools in Nghe An had to close due to heavy flooding and isolation.
