International arrivals increased by 23% to 4.95 million, 15% more than expected. This is according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.
Meanwhile, revenue from tourism of the capital city for the whole year is estimated at nearly 3.2 billion USD, up 15% compared to last year. Most of the visitors come from China, Korea, Japan, France, USA, Germany, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand and Canada.
The results are attributed to the city’s policies to attract tourists, such as promoting typical tourist products while at the same time, training and fostering human resources for local tourism.
In 2018, Hanoi will strive to attract more than 25.4 million visitors, up 7% from what was expected for 2017.
