VTV.vn - The contest was first launched in late 2018, with the aim of celebrating 65 years since Hanoi Liberation Day which took place on October 10, 1954.

A photo contest running with the theme “Tu hao Hanoi”, or Hanoi Pride, which has been organised by the capital city’s Department of Culture and Sports has received a total of 2,659 photographs submitted by 430 photographers from eight countries worldwide, nine months since the launch of the contest.

The photographers who have entered the contest are from India, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Spain, the Philippines, Japan and the host nation, Vietnam. Each of the artworks must meet the requirements of the judges, depicting the daily life of people in the capital, as well as introducing the city’s history and culture to both domestic and international tourists.

The judges will run an online qualifying round from August 1 to 5, with the exhibition qualifying round taking place from August 7 to 11.

The final round is due to take place on August 22 and 23. Sixteen submissions will win prizes, including one for first place, two for second place, three for third place, and 10 consolation prizes.

Eighty of the best photographs from the contest will go on to be exhibited from October 5 to 12 as one of the activities commemorating the 65th anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day.
