The Hanoi People's Court will begin proceedings for the trial of Trịnh Xuân Thanh, former Chairman and General Director of Petro Vietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVC), and other individuals who've been accused of wrongdoings at PetroVietnam and its subsidiary PVC today, January 8th. The case has attracted a lot of attention from the public for its serious consequences, and the involvement of people in high positions in important economic units and major national projects.
Furthermore, the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City will begin the trial of the second phase of Phạm Công Danh that took place at CB Bank, Sacombank, Tien Phong Bank and Development and Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV).
