Hanoi metro needs more funding

The stations have been basically completed but construction of tracks, barriers and some other structures have ground to a halt due to a lack of funding. The project needs 868 million USD, an extra 315 million USD compared to the initial approved figure. The Ministry of Transportation has asked China Eximbank and Chinese Embassy in Vietnam to facilitate payment procedures for the project.
