VTV.vn - Hanoi has begun a large-scale disinfection operation at high-risk locations across the capital city as one of the measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Under the operation, the Hanoi Capital High Command and the Chemicals High Command will spray disinfectant in the seven districts of Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da, Hoang Mai, Quoc Oai, Chuong My and Thach That.

The operation will see the participation of 180 officers and soldiers, 15 specialised vehicles and other hardware, according to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Chung, chief of staff of the 86th Brigade.

On July 26, disinfectant was sprayed in ten wards in the Old Quarter, two wards outside the Red River dyke, in Hai Ba Trung, Ly Thuong Kiet, Tran Hung Dao Streets, as well on the streets around Hoan Kiem Lake and the municipal government building.

The Phu Nghia Industrial Park in Chuong My, where a case of COVID-19 was recently recorded, was also disinfected the same day.

According to the Hanoi Capital High Command, the operation will take place at high-risk locations in the remaining districts over the coming days.
