This week’s episode of Road to Olympia Mount featured four contestants: Nguyen Thanh Truc (Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities High School, Hanoi); Nguyen Nhu Y (Phan Chu Trinh High School, Dak Lak); Nguyen Duc Minh (Bai Chay High School, Quang Ninh); and Nguyen Duc Anh (Nam Sach High School, Hai Phong).
In the Individual Warm-up round, Duc Anh delivered the strongest performance with 60 points, followed by Duc Minh with 40. Nhu Y scored 10 points, while Thanh Truc had none. In the team's Opening round, all four contestants raced to answer as quickly as possible, and Duc Anh continued to build his advantage. After this round, Duc Anh led with 80 points, Duc Minh had 45, Thanh Truc had 10, and Nhu Y trailed with 5.
In the Overcome Obstacle round, the the answer to the word puzzle consisted of 11 letters. Thanh Truc selected the first clue going across , but only Duc Anh answered correctly. Nhu Y chose the second clue across, and this time, none of the four contestants got it right.
For the third across clue, Duc Anh and Duc Minh gave the same answer, and both scored. At that moment, Nhu Y attempted to solve the main obstacle using the “telescope”, but her answer was incorrect. The contest moved on to the final across clue, where Duc Minh rang in to solve the main obstacle and provided the correct answer. At that point, Duc Minh had 80 points, but Duc Anh was still in the lead with 100, while the two female contestants’ scores remained unchanged.
Entering the Speed-Up round, all four had chances to score more points, but the first question resulted in no changes. On the second question, Duc Anh scored the most, widening the gap. By the final question, Duc Anh remained in front with 220 points. Duc Minh was in second place with 110, , followed by Thanh Truc with 45, and Nhu Y had 15.
In the Finish round, Duc Anh chose the 20-20-30 package. Although he missed the first question, he answered the second and third, bringing his total to 270 and establishing a commanding lead that forced the others to attempt a dramatic comeback.
Next to compete, Duc Minh selected the same package but failed to answer any questions, ultimately losing 20 points to Duc Anh, who finished with 90 points.
Thanh Truc and Nhu Y saw little movement thereafter: Thanh Truc finished with 80 points, while Nhu Y used the Star of Hope on the third question and ended with 55. With a final score of 290, Duc Anh captured this week’s Road to Olympia Mount Laurel wreath in emphatic fashion.
