VTV.vn - In 2007, Hai Duong was one of the least competitive provinces in Vietnam. However, in 2015, the province improved greatly. The province now has 321 FDI projects, with total investment of almost 7 billion USD.

This business is finishing its registration procedures, which takes a maximum of 2 days. Reforms in administrative procedures to follow the one-stop-shop model are considered one of Hai Duong's achievements in its improved investment attraction performance.

"They've helped me finish all required procedures so we can finish our files in just 1 to 2 days. This saved us a lot of time and helped us implement our project faster", Nguyen Ngoc Tan - Deputy General Director of GFT Vietnam Co.LTD - said.

"The registration procedures for businesses can currently be done in 2 days maximum, one day less than required. The assessment process has also been shortened, especially in recent times. We have reduced 50-60% of the time needed to assess projects", Nguyen Dinh Khiem - Director of Hai Duong Provincial Department of Planning & Investment - said.

From 2011-2015, Hai Duong's infrastructure has also been vastly improved. 54 industrial clusters have been constructed and over 10,000 businesses, both domestic and foreign are operating here.

"After 7 years investing in Hai Duong, thanks to the policies regarding human resources and good transportation infrastructure, we have doubled our investment in 2015 to 130 million dollars. Our second factory is expected to start operation in 2017", Jeong Nam Ki - General Director pf KEFICO Vietnam Co. LTD. - said.

"We're not trying to attract investment at all costs. Our goal is to ensure the protection of the environment, Hai Duong and other nearby provinces are proof of this. We also never discriminate between domestic and foreign investors, nor between state-owned and private enterprises. Once they came to Hai Duong, they are equal to us. Every businessperson coming here is considered a citizen of the province", Nguyen Duong Thai - Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee - said.

By improving both the investing environment and competitiveness, Hai Duong Province is setting a goal of being in the top 20 provinces with the highest competitiveness index by 2020. In addition, it is also aiming to be one of the provinces in Vietnam with the most effective administrative system.
