Hai Ba Trung Temple festival opens in Hanoi

Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung and former Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan attended the opening ceremony of the Hai Ba Trung Temple Festival.

On this occasion, the Hai Ba Trung Temple Festival was recognized as a national intangible heritage. According to historical accounts, Trung Trac and her younger sister Trung Nhi led their troops to repel Chinese invaders. The victory helped achieve independence for Dai Viet (an old name for Vietnam).

Every year, the heroines’ victory is celebrated at the Hai Ba Trung Temple. The Festival runs through Friday.
