The event coincides with the 60th anniversary of the day late President Hồ Chí Minh visited the pagoda.
This year, over 4,500 ferries are prepared to serve tourists. Police were stationed there to ensure safety and to make sure there are no traffic bottlenecks. The event this year is especially meaningful because Hương Sơn Complex was recognized as a special national heritage.
The Hương Pagoda festival officially opened on the morning of February 21 and runs until the end of the third lunar month. It's the longest festival in the country.
