Job availability varies dramatically between different geographical regions and sectors. The number of unemployed graduates is also increasing.
Last year, universities enrolled nearly 1.75 million students while colleges and vocational schools only recruited more than 764,000. This means that young people with vocational training will only account for a third of post-tertiary education graduates entering the labour market. If there is no adjustment, Vietnam's labour market will continue to leave university graduates unemployed.
