The event was co-organized by the Communist Party of Vietnam's Economic Commission, the National Assembly's Economic Committee and National Economic University.
Reviewing the national economy’s performance last year, participants said that there were still several challenges such as the failed growth rate target, higher inflation and state budget deficit.
In terms of 2017's goals, they suggested two alternatives of growth rate targets of 6% and 6.6%.
In addition, they said that the government should be more determined in restructuring agriculture, manufacturing and high-quality service sectors.
