The issue was raised at the National Assembly Standing Committee's 8th plenary session related to the draft resolution on the Vietnam Fatherland Front's role and functions.
According to the chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan, the advisory and supervisory tasks are being shared among the Front and five other sociopolitical organizations already. It’s imperative that the legal document should specify how supervision would actually work, he suggested.
Meanwhile, participants proposed that the public and the Front should supervise different subjects. And with controversial subjects, there should be discussions between the public and the Front.
