A ceremony was held jointly by Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper and Hanoi’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in the capital city on October 30 to honour individuals and agencies who have made contributions to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The honourees included 21 collectives and 105 individuals from various sectors, such as healthcare, public security, army, aviation and volunteers.

Over the past ten years, thanks to the great efforts by the whole political system as well as the proactiveness and coordination among ministries, agencies and localities, Vietnam has overcome two outbreaks of COVID-19.

During the COVID-19 fight, healthcare was one of the frontline forces in preventing, preventing, testing, detecting, quarantining, treating and localising the outbreaks.

In addition, the public security and army faced numerous difficulties to prevent illegal entry in the border areas while ensuring security in blockade areas.

Images and touching stories about frontline workers have been spread, creating a strong belief in the victory over the pandemic.

The programme to honour the frontline workers in the COVID-19 pandemic was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hanoi with total of 56 collectives and 264 individuals.
