VTV.vn - French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said on Sunday that the French government would not reverse its decision to raise the tax on diesel and carbon fuels, despite massive protests across the country last weekend.

The French Prime Minister also affirmed that the French government's policy was right and they would continue to pursue this policy. Earlier, last month, the  French government decided to increase the fuel tax.

Although the government says raising fuel taxes aims to encourage drivers to use fuel-efficient vehicles and to reduce emissions, however, an estimated 320,000 protesters took to the streets last weekend to protest against this policy.
