Speaking at the opening of the forum, Tran Thi Lan Anh, General Secretary of VCCI affirmed: The world has entered the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic and, still in the face of complicated developments today, it is certain that living with COVID-19 will be prolonged. However, in the face of the wave of global reopening, this is a special opportunity for the tourism industry to meet demand, especially when Vietnam is one of the 10 countries with the highest rate of Covid-19 vaccination, in the world. The number of international searches for Vietnam tourism is increasing sharply.
With 3 sessions, namely: Open-door policy, Taking advantage of opportunities - Recommendations from businesses, and Dialogue, the speakers and participants at the forum exchanged and shared many recommendations and solutions to open up tourism activities when fully reopened, ensuring flexible, safe and effective adaptation criteria.
Overview of the forum.
According to General Director of VNAT Nguyen Trung Khanh, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has completed a plan to reopen tourism activities to ensure safety and efficiency in the new normal conditions from March 15. International and domestic tourism activities via air, road, sea and railway must ensure safety and conform to regulations on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic.
According to the General Department of Tourism, in the context that the epidemic in Vietnam is under control that will be a prerequisite to open great opportunities for the tourism industry to quickly restart, recover and develop in the new normal.
In order to create a "green light" for Vietnam's tourism, it is necessary to pay attention to the following issues: ensuring uniform compliance with regulations on epidemic prevention and control must be thoroughly and uniformly implemented by localities and tourism businesses, as a top priority in tourism activities; increasing exploitation of international commercial routes; restoring policies to simplify entry and exit procedures for tourists in order to attract international visitors, and removing restrictions on immigration policies; strengthening negotiations with other countries and territories on the acceptance of Vietnam's certificate of COVID-19 vaccination; improving product quality, upgrading tourism material and technical facilities, and strengthening professional training for staff to ensure quality of service to tourists; improving competitiveness and enhancing destination attractiveness; increasing the application of information technology in tourism promotion and publicity; and continuing to develop and applying policies to support the recovery of tourism enterprises.
