According to the Vietnam Forest Protection Department, forest fires are most likely to occur in the Northwest region and the Central Highlands, with 44 areas reaching level 4 fire risk and 38 areas reaching level 5.
The level 5 areas are concentrated in Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Lam Dong and An Giang provinces.
In the next two days, these areas are forecast to stay hot, with the highest temperature reaching 35 to 39 degrees Celsius with some places surpassing 40 degrees Celsius.
