Foreign policy supports country’s development

VTV.vn - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Permanent Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Le Hong Anh and leaders from departments, ministries and central agencies attended a Ministry of Foreign Affairs ‘Patriotic Emulation Congress’.

Speaking at the event, the prime minister praised everyone that had made contributions to maintaining peaceful and enhanced relationship with other nations, while raising Vietnam’s international profile. PM Dũng stated that global integration would facilitate national development but also pose challenges and difficulties. Therefore, he required the country’s diplomats to keep in mind the government and party’s policies in terms of foreign affairs, make further efforts to achieve more in terms of global integration activities, and support the development of a favourable environment for sustainable development.

"This movement must be based on the political tasks to facilitate the national interest and the country’s development. In the process of intensive international integration, the diplomatic service must be proactive in order to preserve peace, stability, and increase co-operation and development in the region and internationally", said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

The Prime Minister also stressed that staff of the ministry should also focus on enhancing party building and remembering the moral example posed by Ho Chi Minh, he added.

At the congress, Prime Minister Dung presented the Ho Chi Minh Order to the MOFA’s National Border Committee and awarded the Labour Order, First Class, to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
