National carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) will operate a return flight between Da Nang and Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City daily from September 7-10, with schedules in subsequent days updated in accordance with the virus situation and authorities’ direction.
Comprehensive preventive measures are still taken by VNA, from spraying disinfectants onto aircraft and equipment to providing personal protective equipment to its employees and taking passengers’ temperatures.
Passengers are also required to report their health status and wear masks for the entire journey, while in-flight services have been slimmed down to minimise contact.
Low-cost carrier Vietjet Air (VJA) will resume services between Da Nang and Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City from September 8, with a return flight each day.
Passengers on VJA flights are also required to comply with coronavirus preventive measures such as wearing masks, declaring their health status and installing the contact tracing app Bluezone if they have smartphones.
In addition to flights, other passenger services such as road and rail, are also allowed to resume operating at full capacity from September 7 until further notice.
The central city of Da Nang became the epicentre of a new of wave of Covid-19 in Vietnam when the virus re-emerged in late July, with new cases soaring in the following days and spreading to other localities.
By the end of August, the outbreak in Da Nang had been essentially brought under control.
