Five-month CPI lowest in three years

This is the lowest average increase in the last three years. Nine out of eleven main consumer goods and services groups have had their prices increased.

The transportation group had the highest increase. Particularly in May, the overall inflation rate was higher than basic inflation. This reflects price fluctuations mainly due to increases in gasoline and electricity prices.

The reasons for the decrease in CPI in May were due to falling prices of rice, pork, and health services in some localities.
