This significant milestone was marked with a ceremony held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Tien Giang Province.
To be able to export star apple to the US, the Ministry and Tien Giang province have had to establish clean and safe plantations based on Global GAP standards, and build a clear origin tracking system. Star apple also needs export codes to be granted by the US. Currently, more than 56 ha of star apple in Tiền Giang province has been chosen for export. Star apple grown with Global GAP standards is priced up to 1.32 USD, and is expected to increase by many times after it enters the US.
