VTV.vn - The Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information under the Ministry of Information and Communications fined a facebook account owner for posting fake news about the African swine fever outbreak.

This facebook account posted false information on African swine fever using photos of tapeworm-infected pork taken last November in Bình Dương Province and warned people against eating pork to avoid being infected with African swine fever virus.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development confirmed that the virus is only spread among pigs. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested local schools to not boycott pork and find safe pork supply sources.
