VTV.vn - As many as 35 unique paintings and multimedia installations are being showcased at an exhibition which officially opened on March 20 in the central city of Da Nang.

The exhibits were created by the US sculptor and installation artist Mark Cooper and overseas Vietnamese painter in France Vu Trong Thuan.

The installation works, with different shapes and sizes, were made of ceramics, paper and wood. They were arranged with large paintings made of lacquer and acrylic materials, bringing about a strange and interesting feeling for visitors.

Thanks to creative thinking and love for the land and people of Vietnam, the artists combined their works harmoniously to create a great work named ‘Bridge’ – a symbol of cooperation and connection.

Mark Cooper, who is living in Boston, Massachusetts, the US, iswell-known for numerous large-scale installations in many countries around the world, such as Vietnam, China, the UK, the Republic of Korea and France.

After a long time of settlement in France, painter Vu Trong Thuan returned to Vietnam and chose Da Nang as his second home to pursue his artistic passion. He has made great contributions to the development of the city’s fine arts.

The exhibition, as part of activities to celebrate the 44th anniversary of Da Nang city’s liberation (March 29), will last until April 20.
