VTV.vn - An exhibition officially opened on March 20 in the Mekong River Delta province of Bac Lieu, introducing the formation of Hoa Lu ancient capital city (in what is now Ninh Binh province) as well as the historical and cultural values of Bac Lieu.

On display were over 300 documents, images and artifacts that were divided into different themes.

Accordingly, visitors to the exhibition will be introduced to the formation of the first centralised feudal state in Vietnam (Dai Co Viet State - from 968 to 1010 AD) which was associated with the life and career of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang as well as the leadership of Emperor Le Dai Hanh during the resistance waragainst China’s Song dynasty (981 AD) and the defeat of Champa in 982.

The appearance of Hoa Lu capital city with its palaces and religious works as well as its image during Ly dynasty and the process of moving the capital from Hoa Lu to Thang Long (now Hanoi) are spotlighted at the exhibition.

In addition, the event highlighted the values of historical, cultural and scientific relic sites in Bac Lieu province, particularly ancientcommunal houses that were bestowed by Nguyen Dynasty’s Kings such as Tu Duc and Khai Dinh.

The exhibition contributes to inspiring the patriotism and national pride among people, particularly younger generations, as well as tightening the friendship and solidarity between Ninh Binh and Bac Lieu provinces.

The event will run until March 25.
